From Stormy Seas to Island Sanctuary: A Long-Awaited Return to São Miguel

“I am finally back in São Miguel after nearly three months in the USA—a trip that turned out to be far more transformative than I ever expected. After 16 incredible years, I made the difficult decision to close Pirate Fashions and sell our warehouse. Closing a chapter that spanned over a decade was heartbreaking, but it has brought me home to the Azores with a new perspective.
Even the Atlantic seemed to have opinions on my return; a tropical storm shut down PDL for two days, delaying my arrival. But I am finally settled back into the Golden Mermaid Villa. The highlight of my return? Seeing the first piece of our custom Mermaid Artwork installed in the ground floor suite, thanks to my brother, Mark. It feels like the house is finally coming to life. I’d love to hear what you think of it!”
